Gwangju City Sets Next Year's Living Wage at 10,520 Won... 1.6% Increase from This Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 6th that it has set the 2021 living wage at an hourly rate of 10,520 won.
The living wage is a wage that supports the stabilization of the lives of public sector workers and enables practical living in various fields such as education, culture, and housing.
The living wage decided this time is 1.6% (167 won) higher than this year's living wage of 10,353 won, and it is scheduled to be officially announced on the 7th.
Gwangju City calculated next year's living wage by applying the 'Gwangju-type standard model,' which considers the minimum cost of living for a three-person household, household expenditures within the region, and price levels, and finalized it through deliberation by the Living Wage Committee.
The living wage decided this time will be applied from January next year to about 900 workers belonging to the city, public corporations and enterprises, investment and contribution institutions, and private consignment institutions.
