In his message, the Pope said, "I continue to pray to Almighty God to bestow the gifts of peace and prosperity upon President Moon and the beloved people of the Republic of Korea."
Pope Francis stated, "I cherish the conversation I had with President Moon during his visit to the Vatican on October 18, 2018," and especially urged President Moon to work towards realizing peace on the Korean Peninsula.
