The signing ceremony was attended by Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Nam Chang-hee, CEO of Lotte Super, to discuss mutual cooperation plans. This business agreement was established to promote the sales of agricultural and specialty products to help farmers who are struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and damage caused by the extended rainy season, as well as to revitalize online sales of local agricultural and specialty products in line with the growing trend of non-face-to-face consumption culture.
Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk, said, “We must turn the changes in agriculture brought about by COVID-19 into an opportunity,” and added, “Through the business agreement with Lotte Super, I hope this will be a turning point that breathes new life into the agricultural distribution ecosystem where producers sell at fair prices and consumers buy at lower prices.”
