Heo Seok, Mayor of Suncheon, Inspects Damage Sites from Typhoon Maysak No. 9
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Heo Seok, mayor of Suncheon City, visited Nagan-myeon and Dosa-dong, which suffered damage such as fallen fruit and lodged rice due to Typhoon Maysak, the 9th typhoon, passing the southern coast in the early morning of the 3rd, to console residents and inspect the damage recovery situation.
This typhoon caused various agricultural damages in the Suncheon area, including 20 hectares of fallen fruit and 31 hectares of lodged rice, due to concentrated heavy rain with an average rainfall of 92mm and a maximum instantaneous wind speed of 20.7m/s.
Mayor Heo, after inspecting the damage sites, consoled the affected residents and checked the progress, ordering the responsible departments to prepare prompt recovery measures to ensure residents do not experience inconvenience.
Accordingly, the city will conduct a detailed investigation within 10 days of damage reports from farms after the disaster ends, and for farms subscribed to crop disaster insurance, early payment of insurance money will be made through rapid damage assessment.
Mayor Heo said, “I extend my condolences to the residents affected by this typhoon, and we will do our best to ensure that residents return to their daily lives as soon as possible through swift recovery.”
