Gyeonggi Office of Education Raises Over 28 Million Won in Donations for Flood Damage Relief
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education has donated over 28 million won in flood relief funds to the National Disaster Relief Association and the Korean Red Cross.
The Gyeonggi Office of Education conducted a fundraising campaign from the 19th to the 25th of last month among employees at the Suwon Gyeonggi Office of Education headquarters, 25 regional education support offices across the province, and 12 affiliated institutions. A total of 1,874 people voluntarily participated in this fundraising. The total amount raised was 28,254,810 won.
The donations will be used to help flood victims who lost their homes and livelihoods due to unprecedented long rainy seasons and heavy rains recover from the damage.
