SRT Chuseok Ticket Reservations Also Delayed by One Week... Reservations from 15th to 17th
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] SR announced on the 2nd that it will postpone the SRT Chuseok train ticket reservation schedule by one week in line with the implementation of social distancing level 2.5 in the metropolitan area and the postponement of ticket reservation dates by Korea Railroad (KORAIL).
During the special Chuseok transportation period from the 29th of this month to the 4th of next month, only window seats will be sold to maintain social distancing on trains.
Accordingly, the advance reservation for the elderly and disabled originally scheduled for the 8th will be postponed to the 15th, the Gyeongbu Line reservation from the 9th to the 16th, and the Honam Line reservation from the 10th to the 17th, each delayed by one week.
This year’s Chuseok SRT train ticket reservations will be conducted 100% non-face-to-face due to concerns over the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). During the holiday ticket reservation period from the 15th to the 17th, tickets cannot be purchased by visiting stations.
Since reservations will be made entirely online, 10% of the total seats on the 15th will be preferentially allocated for the elderly and disabled who have difficulty using the internet and mobile devices.
Detailed information related to Chuseok reservations will be announced later through the SR website and the SRT app.
Korea Railroad also explained that it decided to postpone the Chuseok ticket reservation originally scheduled for the 2nd and 3rd to the 8th and 9th, respectively, in accordance with the social distancing level 2.5 policy announced the previous day.
As a result, reservations for the Gyeongbu, Gyeongjeon, Donghae, and Chungbuk Lines originally scheduled for the 2nd have been postponed to the 8th, and reservations for the Honam, Gangneung, and Janghang Lines originally scheduled for the 3rd have been postponed to the 9th.
