[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC) is launching support initiatives for SME exports and young job seekers preparing for employment.

On the 2nd, SBC announced that it is recruiting companies to participate in the Youth Global Marketer Project (3rd round) online consultation meeting until the 7th.

The Youth Global Marketer Project is a program that supports the creation and maintenance of youth jobs and strengthens the export capabilities of SMEs by nurturing and supporting young export personnel. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and SBC have newly launched this project this year. Eligible companies are SMEs that have hired or plan to hire young export personnel aged 19 to 34 since July last year, and a total of 80 companies will be selected.

Participating companies will receive online trade education and in-house mentoring to enhance the export marketing capabilities of youth global marketers. Unlike the 1st and 2nd rounds, the 3rd round will support up to six 1:1 buyer online consultations.

SBC provides comprehensive support for non-face-to-face overseas market development for small and medium venture companies through discovering overseas buyers, sending samples, interpretation support, and providing online consultation venues. The online consultation meetings utilizing youth global marketers are planned to be held regionally from September to November in China, Southeast Asia, the Americas, and Europe.

Lee Seonghee, Head of the Global Growth Division, said, “We are currently supporting education, mentoring, and local export marketing activities to enhance the capabilities of youth global marketers from 134 companies that participated in the 1st and 2nd projects,” adding, “In the 3rd round, we expect to provide an opportunity to strengthen the non-face-to-face overseas expansion capabilities of young personnel and SMEs by substituting local activity support with online consultation meetings.”
