Seoul Gangseo-gu, Support for Home Repairs in Gonghang-dong Urban Regeneration Activation Area
Up to 20 Million KRW Support for Performance Improvement Repairs of Old Houses... Applications Accepted Until September 11
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) will support the repair of old and worn-out houses in the area around 60-28 Gonghang-dong (149,976㎡), which is included in the ‘Seoul Ggakum Housing Project’ as part of the urban regeneration revitalization project.
The ‘Seoul Ggakum Housing Project’ is a system where the city subsidizes repair costs for aging houses within the housing performance improvement support zone.
Accordingly, owners of old houses in the area can receive partial or full support for construction costs aimed at improving housing performance such as waterproofing and insulation.
The support method and amount vary depending on the type of housing?detached, multi-family, multiplex, or row houses?and the specific construction details, with 50 to 100% of the repair costs being covered.
For multiplex and row houses, up to 20 million KRW is supported for common areas, and up to 5 million KRW per household for exclusive areas. For detached and multi-family houses, up to 15 million KRW can be supported depending on the scope of support.
The eligible targets are detached, multi-family, multiplex, and row houses located within the Gonghang-dong urban regeneration revitalization project area that have passed 20 years since their approval for use.
Buildings that were managed as long-term unused approved buildings but have since been approved for use can also apply if it is confirmed that 20 years or more have passed from the completion of construction.
However, ▲simple construction unrelated to housing performance improvement ▲detached or multi-family houses with an individual house price exceeding 600 million KRW ▲exclusive and common area construction of multiplex and row houses with an individual household apartment price exceeding 600 million KRW ▲and buildings marked as illegal constructions on the building register are excluded from support.
Applications for support can be made by ▲owners of detached and multi-family houses, and for multiplex and row houses, ▲owners of individual households for exclusive areas, and ▲one representative among the individual household owners for common areas.
Residents wishing to apply should prepare related documents such as the project participation application form, repair construction plan, and consent form for personal information use, and visit the Gangseo-gu Office Urban Regeneration Division by the 11th to apply.
More detailed information can be found on the ‘Gangseo-gu Office website - News Plaza - Notices & News,’ where necessary application forms can also be downloaded.
The district office will review application documents and conduct on-site inspections to determine eligibility and support amounts. The Seoul Metropolitan Government will select the final support recipients and amounts through a subsidy review committee. Selected recipients will be individually notified by the district office.
