Jeonnam Province Launches 'Cadastral Re-survey' in Flood-Affected Areas
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province will undertake a 'cadastral resurvey' to urgently restore land boundaries, which are the living grounds of residents in flood-damaged areas caused by heavy rains.
Jeonnam Province announced on the 31st that it will additionally designate 543 parcels in 2 districts, where land boundaries disappeared due to landslides, as cadastral resurvey project districts and will begin full-scale implementation next month.
In particular, Gokseong-gun and Damyang-gun, flood-affected areas along the Seomjingang River, are severely damaged by landslides and flooding.
Therefore, cadastral surveying is necessary to restore houses and farmland, and to reduce the economic burden on residents in the flood-affected areas, the province will coordinate with central government agencies to additionally designate these as cadastral resurvey districts and implement a 100% waiver of cadastral surveying fees.
Since 2012, the province has promoted the largest number of cadastral resurvey projects nationwide, and while typical cadastral resurvey districts take 2 to 3 years, it plans to actively support restoration within 6 months using the latest technologies and equipment such as drones, GNSS, and mobile surveying.
