Wando-gun Restricts Tourist Visits to Cheongsan, Nohwa, Soando Islands, and Others
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 28th that it has issued an administrative order to restrict tourist visits to Cheongsando, Nohwa, Bogil, and Soan Islands for 9 days from the 29th of this month to the 6th of next month.
A citizen from Daejeon who visited Nohwa and Bogil from the 18th to the 19th was confirmed as Daejeon case number 215 on the 23rd, and on the 27th, two residents of Cheongsando tested positive, raising concerns about the spread of COVID-19 in the local community.
Accordingly, Wando-gun has decided to control tourists by verifying addresses when selling ferry tickets to Cheongsando, Nohwa, Bogil, and Soan for the safety of its residents.
The restriction applies to residents who do not have an address registered in Wando-gun.
Shin Woo-cheol, the mayor of Wando-gun, said, “Considering the seriousness of the COVID-19 situation, we decided to restrict visits,” and earnestly requested cooperation from tourists and those originally from the area.
