KOSPI and KOSDAQ Maintain Slight Decline in Afternoon Amid Foreign and Institutional Selling
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] The KOSPI and KOSDAQ markets continue to show slight declines into the afternoon session.
On the 27th, the KOSPI opened at 2371.95, up 2.63 points (0.11%) from the previous trading day, but soon turned downward and has been hovering around the 2360 level, maintaining a slight downward trend. As of 1:05 PM, it is recording 2357.48, down 11.84 points (0.50%) from the previous day.
Looking at the current trading trends by participant, institutional and foreign investors are leading the index's weakness with selling pressure. They are net selling 301.1 billion KRW and 62.8 billion KRW respectively, while individual investors are net buying 351.6 billion KRW.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, NCSoft, Kakao, Samsung SDI, and NAVER are rising, whereas Samsung C&T, Celltrion, Samsung Biologics, and Hyundai Motor are declining.
The KOSDAQ index is also slightly down. The KOSDAQ index started the day higher but showed mixed trends in the early session before turning downward after 10 AM and continuing a slight decline. As of 1:05 PM, it stands at 838.68, down 2.67 points (0.32%) from the previous day.
Regarding current supply and demand, similar to the KOSPI market, foreign and institutional investors are net selling 109.1 billion KRW and 53.2 billion KRW respectively, while individual investors are net buying 193 billion KRW.
