[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) is recruiting participants for the ‘Gangseo Kids Supporters’ to be dispatched to local schools as part of the COVID-19 Overcoming Hope Job Project.
The ‘Gangseo Kids Supporters’ will be assigned as quarantine and learning support personnel to about 210 schools, kindergartens, and daycare centers in the area, supporting students' learning while working to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Eligible participants are Gangseo-gu residents aged 18 to under 65 with working ability, who belong to low-income vulnerable groups or have experienced job loss or business closure due to COVID-19.
The number of recruits is 420, and since the project targets children and adolescents, priority will be given to those with relevant certifications, graduates of related departments, or those recommended by institution heads.
Applicants must submit application documents to the Gangseo-gu Office Job Policy Division (Exit 1 of Gayang Station, 4th floor of Tamna Youngjaegwan) by the 26th.
Application documents can be found in the announcements section on the Gangseo-gu Office website.
Selected participants will be deployed to projects including ▲quarantine and remote class support at academies and kindergartens ▲quarantine and care support at daycare centers ▲learning support and quarantine at local children’s centers ▲meal support and quarantine at local children’s centers.
An official from the district said, “This project is expected to have a dual effect by encouraging employment among vulnerable groups and reducing the quarantine workload of institutions such as schools,” adding, “We will strive to create quality public jobs through continuous project development and system improvement.”
