From today until the end of next month, LG Electronics will donate $300,000 (approximately 360 million KRW) jointly with global customers participating in the campaign to the nonprofit organization Korea Habitat. This organization builds houses and improves living environments for homeless households.
Customers who wish to participate can shoot a short video on the theme ‘Why home is special to me’ and share it on social media such as Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag ‘#LGComeHomeChallenge’.
The donation will be used to build new homes with safe and healthy living environments in India, Kenya, and Vietnam. Activities to improve water sanitation environments such as communal water supply and toilets, as well as educational environments like schools, will also be carried out.
LG Electronics provides participation guidelines to global customers on the campaign website. In addition, sample videos featuring LG home appliances and families sharing meals, spending time together, and living happily at home have been released on the website and social media.
To encourage more customers to participate in this campaign, LG Electronics offers an augmented reality (AR) filter on the global Instagram account of LG Electronics home appliances. When customers use the AR filter, they can add a graphic of a front door opening at the beginning of the video they upload.
