Gwangju Dong-gu to Hold 'Art Show' with Gwangju Artists Association and ACC Hotel Starting from the 18th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 13th that it recently signed a business agreement with the Gwangju Metropolitan City Branch of the Korea Fine Arts Association and the ACC Design Hotel Gallery to join forces in overcoming COVID-19 and revitalizing local culture and arts.
As their first project, these organizations will hold the tentative 'ACC Design Hotel Art Show' at the ACC Design Hotel Gallery (226-11 Geumnam-ro) from the 18th until October 13th.
The 'ACC Design Hotel Art Show' was prepared to breathe new life into the local cultural and artistic community, which has been stagnant due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and to provide an opportunity to showcase works by local artists who lost exhibition opportunities because of COVID-19.
Hosted and organized by the Gwangju Metropolitan City Branch of the Korea Fine Arts Association and the ACC Design Hotel, and sponsored by Dong-gu, this exhibition features a total of 58 artists presenting over 180 works.
The exhibited works are priced based on standards of 300,000 KRW, 500,000 KRW, and 1,000,000 KRW, and will be sold to art enthusiasts.
This art show is expected to provide citizens with a great opportunity to enjoy culture and arts by showcasing works from renowned local artists such as Gangnam-gu, Kim Jae-min, Kim Yong-woo, Son Man-seok, Shin Seon, Lee Byung-oh, Lee Inam, Jeong Gwang-ju, Jeong Cheol, and Hong Ji-ae all in one place.

Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, said, “I hope this exhibition will be a good opportunity to revitalize the local cultural and artistic community, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19,” and added, “We will continue to promote cultural policies befitting the status of Dong-gu as a cultural center, such as support projects for local artists.”
