Psychological Recovery Support for Residents Suffering from Severe Disaster Stress such as Depression and Anxiety
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 13th that it will operate the 'Visiting Mind Healing Counseling Room' year-round to support the psychological recovery of residents who have experienced psychological shock due to heavy rain.
The county plans to do its best to support the psychological recovery of local residents exposed to natural disasters such as heavy rain victims, as the importance of psychological recovery support for residents suffering from severe disaster stress such as depression and anxiety has been highlighted.
The county will identify subjects through linkage with the eup/myeon administrative welfare centers where disaster victims have occurred, and provide customized services after systematic classification by the county (normal, attention, high-risk groups) through assessment using disaster emergency screening questionnaires and mental health evaluation tools. High-risk subjects will be linked to the Disaster Psychological Recovery Support Center and the Gyeongnam Regional Mental Health Welfare Center, and normal group subjects who wish to continue counseling can receive case management through visits and telephone counseling at the Geochang-gun Mental Health Welfare Center.
