Gangdong-gu Garden-type Vegetable Plot 'Pamix Garden' Night Opening
Night Lighting Installation Open Mon-Sat 9 AM to 10 PM... Operated as a Healing Space in the City for Comfortable Night Walks
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) is opening the garden-style vegetable garden ‘Pamix Garden (145-6 Sangil-dong)’ until 10 PM for residents' relaxation.
Pamix Garden was newly opened in May by renovating the existing Myeongil Neighborhood Park community vegetable garden into a space for gardening, a garden, and a resting area, providing residents with leisure, experience, and sharing opportunities.
True to its name as a garden, fragrant herbs such as lavender and rosemary, along with various shrubs, are planted and cultivated. The garden also features a waterside resting garden with a refreshing water stream, a pavilion, and outdoor tables.
The vegetable garden is used for urban agriculture experience programs, and the harvested crops are shared with underprivileged neighbors to practice sharing.
Additionally, there is the ‘Pamix Center,’ a complex urban agriculture community facility consisting of a storybook cafe and a native seed library, the ‘Smart Farm’ where future urban agriculture integrating new technologies can be experienced, and an urban agriculture history museum, allowing visitors to experience various aspects of urban agriculture.
The previous operating hours were until 6 PM, but to allow residents to enjoy nighttime walks, night lighting has been installed, and the garden is open from 9 AM to 10 PM Monday through Saturday. Other facilities operate as before until 6 PM (the storybook cafe until 7 PM).
To commemorate the nighttime opening, a ‘Starry Night Small Concert’ will be held at 7 PM on August 28. Various performances such as fusion gugak (traditional Korean music), busking, and magic shows will be held, along with experience programs for children like making butterfly wings and flower crowns. Picnic sets will be provided to facilitate comfortable viewing.
