Transferred to Osan US Air Force Hospital
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jae-hee] A U.S. Air Force member stationed in Gunsan, Jeonbuk, has been confirmed as the 41st and 42nd COVID-19 cases in the province.
According to Jeonbuk health authorities on the 11th, a man in his 20s, A, and a teenager, B, both U.S. Air Force personnel, tested positive for COVID-19 and were placed in isolation.
A arrived at Incheon Airport on the 8th aboard Delta Air Lines flight 197 from Seattle, USA (seat 55J), and B arrived the next day, the 9th, on Delta Air Lines flight 159 from Detroit, USA (seat 51J).
After arriving at the airport, A and B were transported to the Gunsan base by military-exclusive vehicles, underwent specimen testing, and on the 11th tested positive for COVID-19. They were classified as the 41st and 42nd cases in Jeonbuk and were transferred to the Osan U.S. Air Force Hospital at 4 p.m.
They wore personal protective equipment while moving from the airport to the Gunsan base, and no contacts have been reported.
Health authorities have sent an official letter to the Incheon Airport quarantine office to identify passengers on the incoming flights and contacts within the airport.
