[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] The POSCO labor union, the representative negotiating union of POSCO, announced on the afternoon of the 11th that it had decided to delegate the 2020 wage negotiations to the company at an extraordinary delegates' meeting.
The meeting was attended by about 100 delegates, including Kim In-cheol, chairman of the POSCO labor union.
On this day, the POSCO labor union emphasized, "In the domestic and international economic crisis caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), we have decided to delegate this year's wage negotiations to the company from a magnanimous perspective to help the company overcome the management crisis early."
They continued, "Since POSCO has grown together with labor and management based on a cooperative labor-management relationship since its founding, we hope that this wage delegation will further strengthen the cooperative labor-management relationship and become an opportunity for both labor and management to achieve a win-win."
Accordingly, the POSCO labor union plans to promptly convey its position to delegate the 2020 wage negotiations to the company.
The POSCO labor union also plans to conduct a vote among all union members for or against once the company’s wage proposal is received.
