Hamyang County Governor Emphasizes Proactive Response to Typhoon Jangmi No. 5 Approaching North
Orders for Heavy Rain Damage Assessment, Rapid Recovery, and Securing National Road Funds
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Seo Chun-soo, the mayor of Hamyang County, on the 10th, during the weekly expanded executive meeting, urged efforts to minimize work gaps during the vacation season and to reduce casualties caused by heavy rain and typhoons.
The county held the expanded executive meeting in the large conference room, presided over by Mayor Seo Chun-soo, receiving reports on pending projects from each department and securing cooperation from each department for smooth project implementation.
On this day, Mayor Seo said, “Following the recent heavy rain, Typhoon No. 5 ‘Jangmi’ is moving north, bringing forecasts of heavy rain and strong winds,” adding, “Although this typhoon is relatively small, it follows the monsoon rains that caused significant damage nationwide, so we must not let our guard down and need thorough preemptive measures.”
He continued, “With the summer vacation season underway, please work to prevent administrative leaks or gaps and ensure smooth operations so that residents do not experience any inconvenience,” and stated, “Although work continues with COVID-19, securing national and provincial funds, and emergency duty during heavy rain, if we put in a little more effort, we can create a safe and happy Hamyang.”
Along with this, he ordered thorough damage investigations and rapid recovery from the recent heavy rain, as well as the preparation of national and provincial financial support measures.
