NSSC Checks Preparedness and Activates Emergency Duty System for Typhoon 'Jangmi'
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Nuclear Safety and Security Commission held an emergency situation inspection meeting on the 10th regarding Typhoon No. 5 'Jangmi,' which is moving northward, to check the preparedness of nuclear facilities and activate the emergency duty system.
The meeting was conducted via video conference connecting the Disaster Prevention Situation Room of the NSSC, four regional offices installed on-site (Gori, Hanbit, Hanul, Wolseong), and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power.
They reviewed the results of the special summer inspection conducted in June and the preparedness plan for Typhoon No. 5 'Jangmi.'

Chairman Eom Jae-sik of the NSSC said, "Since the typhoon is expected to pass through the southeastern part of the Korean Peninsula during heavy rainfall, please conduct a more thorough safety inspection on-site," and added, "Maintain the emergency duty system until the weather warning is lifted and promptly report any unusual occurrences."
