[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Center for Teaching and Learning Development at Silla University has begun training sessions to teach professors various techniques necessary for conducting online and remote classes.

This training for professors aims to produce high-quality educational content, considering the current trend where online and remote lectures have become dominant instead of face-to-face classes due to COVID-19.

During the summer vacation, starting from August 13, the Center is conducting lectures on how to use Zoom and Webex to facilitate communication between professors and students during classes online.

On September 10, at 1 PM and 5 PM, two sessions will be held in the Digital Education Engineering Room, where participants can practice the techniques learned online in an offline setting.

The program titled "With the Center for Teaching and Learning Development, Remote Classes Are Not Difficult - 2020 2nd Semester One Day Online Class" was prepared upon professors' requests as a follow-up to the customized teaching competency enhancement Jump Up program conducted in the first semester.

Throughout the first semester, the Center for Teaching and Learning Development received positive evaluations by offering various online training sessions for professors in line with the implementation of online and remote classes due to COVID-19. These included lectures on using social learning tools, creating teaching media, step-by-step online teaching methods to enhance learning motivation and communication, using Mook, and e-learning copyright issues.

The Center also awarded 32 professors who actively participated in the online teaching training under the name "Onda (On-line 多)".

Center Director Lee Kyung-soon said, "Considering the significantly changed educational environment after the COVID-19 situation, we expect this training to improve satisfaction among professors and students."
