On the 6th, candidate Lee Nak-yeon held a press conference at the Jeonbuk Provincial Council briefing room, stating, "The four months following the party personnel appointments are a very important period," and added, "I decided to run because I believe I can successfully lead economic recovery, social safety nets, livelihood recovery, and reform development."
He continued, "Although I have paid close attention to the Saemangeum public-led reclamation method, it has not met expectations," and emphasized, "Jeonbuk is the hometown of my grandmother, mother, and wife, and I will fully support the development plans proposed by Jeonbuk Province."
On this day, candidate Lee promised to support the smooth progress of regional projects such as the Jeonju-Wanju carbon industry, Gochang-Buan offshore wind power, Gimje smart farm, and Namwon public medical university.
He also stressed the need to attract public institutions related to industries that have the infrastructure to maximize the effectiveness of the Innovation City Season 2 plan and industries that are strategically targeted for growth.
As examples, Lee proposed attracting public financial institutions aiming to become a financial hub, institutions related to the smart agro-life valley, and public institutions linked to the waterfront city to be established in Saemangeum.
Furthermore, he urged the acceleration of the straightening of the Jeonju (Jeonbuk) to Yeosu (Jeonnam) section and argued that a different plan from the metropolitan railway networks promoted in large cities like Daejeon is also necessary.
When asked about the neglect of Jeonbuk, candidate Lee reiterated, "There are shortcomings in meeting expectations, but it is not being neglected," and emphasized again, "Jeonbuk is the hometown of my grandmother, mother, and wife."
Regarding real estate legislation, Lee said, "For a long time, society has regarded real estate legislation as a task, but once it was legislated, there may be feelings of anxiety and victimization," adding, "I believe this is a temporary concern."
He continued, "It will raise the status of tenants' rights that have long been desired and contribute to stabilizing the real estate market," and added, "The recent deviations by some local governments are regrettable and shameful, and they should reflect and contribute to society."
Candidate Lee stated, "We must place great emphasis on the carbon industry going forward and have high expectations," and said, "We will support it so that it can surpass Japan in all aspects, including competition efficiency and price."
He also appealed for support, saying, "Although some things are not meeting expectations, I hope people will focus on the improvements compared to the past," and "I will support the smooth progress of regional projects."
