"I am safe," Kim Hyung-kyu conveys his position after the KBS radio intruder incident
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] During a live KBS radio broadcast, a man caused a disturbance and was taken into police custody. Broadcaster Kim Hyung-gyu, who was at the scene, shared his thoughts.
On the 5th, Kim Hyung-gyu posted on his Instagram, "I have received too many messages... I am safe," adding, "I hope everyone has a peaceful evening."
Earlier that day, around 3:40 PM, a man in his 40s broke the large glass window of the open studio in front of the KBS main building in Yeouido-dong, Seoul, where KBS Cool FM's 'Hwang Jung-min's Music Show' was being broadcast live.
The broadcast was streamed as a 'visible radio' program, and the sound of the glass breaking was transmitted over the radio waves. DJ Hwang Jung-min quickly left the studio, and guest Kim Hyung-gyu finished the broadcast in his place.
The man who caused the disturbance by breaking the glass was arrested by the police and is currently under investigation.

KBS stated, "The radio open studio is located in an area where general viewers can freely come and go, so there was a possibility of additional damage. However, thanks to the prompt response of KBS Security staff, fortunately, no casualties occurred." They added, "KBS will actively cooperate with the police investigation by providing surrounding CCTV footage."
