Smart Technology Education for Middle School Students in Songpa District: 'Songpa 3D Maker School' Program
Solve Career Concerns Through Various Experiences Like 3D Printers, VR, and Drones
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) will conduct the ‘Songpa 3D Maker School’ for middle school students in the district from August 2 to November 30 to nurture future talents.
The program is designed to help students prepare for changes in future society through understanding the 4th Industrial Revolution and practical experiences with 3D printers, 3D pen art, VR, and drones. It is a student-centered education that enables students to develop their capabilities independently from selecting tasks to problem-solving.
Students will learn the principles and structures of 3D printers and 3D pens and directly create items such as autonomous vehicles and hearing aids. They can also experience drone assembly and control practice, as well as VR video shooting through basic drone theory education, allowing them to enjoy creativity, hands-on experience, and knowledge sharing.
In particular, the program will be conducted in a safe educational environment by combining online and offline education and offering various programs.
This education is part of the Songpa Innovative Education District project, where schools and the local community grow together. Career education specialized institutions and organizations were publicly recruited and linked with schools for operation. On May 25, three companies were finally selected through evaluation, and on July 7, a briefing session on the project details and implementation methods was held at Songpa-gu Office for 28 middle schools in the district.
