Smilegate Partners with KT to Boost Indie Game Development
Strategic Partnership Agreement to Promote Domestic and International Indie Games
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Smilegate Stove is joining hands with KT to revitalize indie games.
Smilegate Stove announced on the 5th that it signed a strategic partnership with KT at KT East Building in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, to promote domestic and international indie games.
Based on Smilegate's global game industry competitiveness, the two companies plan to combine KT's experience in operating cloud game services to provide gamers with a new experience.
Smilegate Stove plans to list indie games currently available in its package store on Stove within KT's cloud game service "5G Streaming Game."
The two companies will also jointly invest to acquire popular titles that have gained attention or success overseas, as well as domestic indie games. Additionally, they will support domestic talented creators in game development and marketing capabilities and build services where developers and gamers can freely communicate.
