KOTRA Supports Silicon Valley Expert Mentoring for Domestic Startups
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] KOTRA has teamed up with the Silicon Valley-based startup consulting group 'Nexus Partners' to provide mentoring for Korean companies.
On the 5th, KOTRA announced that it is conducting online training to enhance the overseas expansion capabilities of 14 selected companies out of 101 participants in the 'Global Jump 300' program. The training focuses on writing English applications for accelerator admission and producing pitching videos.
'Nexus Partners' is a global startup business consulting firm led by Steve Adelman, who has operated mentoring programs at the University of California, Berkeley and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Adelman said, "Even in Silicon Valley, attention is being paid to Korean startups that are quickly overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic," adding, "We planned this program with KOTRA to impart business know-how such as value delivery skills to promising entrepreneurs."

View original imageAdditionally, local experts such as Rowland Chen, who has worked as a consultant at Apple and Hewlett-Packard, are leading the program. Startup A in Korea stated, "During the 10-week training, we are working on assignments related to business model development, efficient investor relations (IR), and pitching skills, and receiving feedback," adding, "We want to create materials and videos that resonate in Silicon Valley and gain admission to the promising accelerator Y-Combinator."
