[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Lotte Mart announced on the 5th that it has signed a contract for brand usage with 'Vivino,' the world's number one wine application (app).
Vivino is a wine app used by 42 million people worldwide, holding 150 million reviews directly evaluated by consumers. It is a global wine app with over 400,000 users in Korea as well.
Through this agreement, Lotte Mart will be able to use various Vivino contents in wine stores, including flyers. Lotte Mart plans to set up a separate Vivino booth where consumers can connect the wines they select directly to the Vivino app to provide information about the wines, and will create a Vivino Zone composed only of wines highly rated on the Vivino app.
Lotte Mart expects to transform the wine market from an expert-centered market to a consumer-centered market through strategic collaboration with Vivino. Additionally, by easily utilizing product descriptions and ratings evaluated by global consumers, they plan to lower the entry barriers to wine, which had been considered complicated and difficult.
Despite difficulties in overseas business trips due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Lotte Mart was able to continuously exchange work on collaboration plans with Vivino through social network services (SNS) and video conferences, leading to this contract. The signing ceremony was also conducted via video conference.
