View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] A large sand sculpture has been installed at Songho Beach, a popular summer destination, capturing the attention of summer vacationers nationwide.
According to Haenam County on the 3rd, during the safe beach opening period in response to COVID-19, various attractions and unique experience events are being held under the title "Songho Beach Summer Story" to attract tourists during the vacation season.
For the first time in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions, a sand sculpture exhibition is being held, providing a unique spectacle not seen elsewhere to both local residents and tourists, capturing their attention.
The sand sculptures include a main piece, a sandcastle measuring 6 meters high and 8m×8m in size, along with four other large sculptures: Frozen Kingdom (4m×4m), Rock Giant, Pengsu and Friends, and Animal Forest, totaling five large-scale works on display.
Additionally, a hands-on experience event is being held where families can create their own sand sculptures. From the 8th to the 9th, two sessions per day will be held, with 12 teams per session accepted on a first-come, first-served basis at the site.
Kayaking and paddleboard water leisure activities will also be available until the 9th, operating from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. These water leisure activities are paid, with professional instructors assigned so that anyone can enjoy leisure sports easily and safely.
Songho Beach operates on a reservation system and is managed as a safe beach with measures such as wearing safety bands and masks upon entry.
