KIAT Awards 10% of 'COVID-19 Overcome' Performance Bonuses as Onnuri Gift Certificates
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT) announced on the 31st that, as part of sharing the burden caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), a portion of the performance-based bonuses from management evaluations was paid in Onnuri gift certificates.
KIAT reached an agreement with the labor union to pay part of the performance bonuses in Onnuri gift certificates to revitalize the local economy, and with the consent of employees who voluntarily expressed their intention, 10% of the total performance bonus amount was paid in gift certificates.
Earlier in March, KIAT raised disaster relief funds and delivered them to medical institutions in Daegu, and Director Seok Young-cheol participated in overcoming COVID-19 by returning 30% of his salary for four months.
