Hyundai Engineering & Construction and Seoul St. Mary's Hospital Launch 'Remote Health Consultation' for Overseas Workers
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Hyundai Engineering & Construction announced on the 21st that it will provide remote health consultation services for health promotion and psychological stability of overseas workers in collaboration with Seoul St. Mary's Hospital.
Hyundai Engineering & Construction and Seoul St. Mary's Hospital recently signed a business agreement for remote health consultation services to assist Hyundai E&C and partner company employees residing in overseas countries where access to quality medical services is difficult, establishing and operating a mutual cooperation system.
The health consultations are conducted via a remote platform using non-face-to-face video communication between the consultees and medical staff. Seoul St. Mary's Hospital bases this on its experience with remote video services in the Infection Control Office and International Medical Center, which have been pilot-operated in collaboration with AI solution developer Puzzle AI.
Each overseas site is equipped with thermometers, blood pressure monitors, and oxygen saturation meters. Workers record self-diagnosis logs and complete pre-consultation questionnaires regarding health discomforts and underlying conditions to apply for consultation. Medical staff receive and review these in advance, then provide health consultations through a video application. Based on feedback from the service implementation, the scope of services will be expanded to comprehensive health consultations.
Kim Yong-sik, director of Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, stated, "We plan to expand remote consultations for overseas residents and workers in medical blind spots using accumulated telemedicine and AI technologies. These efforts are expected to significantly enhance the international status of Korean medical services."
