[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] LS Cable & System announced on the 21st that it has launched the SimpleWide™ LAN cable, which can simultaneously transmit data and power up to 200 meters.
LS Cable & System explained that SimpleWide™ is a world-class product that doubles the transmission distance limit of existing LAN cables from 100 meters to 200 meters. With the transmission distance doubled, the use of connection devices such as hubs required to extend LAN cables can be reduced by half.
This product is mainly used to connect IP cameras, telephones, closed-circuit (CC)TV, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices. It does not require separate power cables or outlets, making it possible to install in places where power installation is difficult, such as ceilings and narrow spaces.
LS Cable & System plans to focus on marketing, anticipating rapid market growth due to the recent spread of smart factories and buildings, and the establishment of IoT infrastructure. In particular, it expects expanded use in IP cameras and CCTV sporadically installed within buildings.
