[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 8th, Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, visited a restaurant designated as the ‘No. 1 Gwangjin-gu Safe Restaurant,’ attached a Safe Restaurant signboard, and provided quarantine supplies.
Mayor Kim expressed gratitude and encouragement to the Safe Restaurant owners who strictly follow quarantine rules during a time of great concern about local infections and strive to provide safe food to residents.
The district is promoting a system for designating and operating ‘Safe Restaurants’ that residents can use with confidence. So far, a total of 51 restaurants have been designated as Safe Restaurants.
The requirements for designation as a Safe Restaurant are ▲providing utensils or personal trays for serving food ▲installing hand sanitizers and disinfecting at least once daily ▲staff wearing masks while cooking and serving customers, complying with these three quarantine rules.

The designation procedure involves the owner applying to the Gwangjin-gu Health and Hygiene Department, which reviews the requirements and selects establishments that meet them. Selected establishments receive a ‘Safe Restaurant’ signboard and are provided with quarantine supplies such as hand sanitizer, detergent, and dental masks.
