President Moon to Announce 'Korean New Deal' Directly at Blue House on the 13th (Comprehensive)

Kang Min-seok, spokesperson for the Blue House, stated during a briefing at the Press Center on the afternoon of the 8th, "President Moon will hold a national report meeting at the Blue House on the 13th to directly announce the comprehensive plan for the Korean New Deal." He added that President Moon instructed to prepare the national report meeting well so that he can thoroughly report on the kind of society the government aims to create, the vision of the Korean New Deal, and the detailed implementation plan.
Earlier, Hong Nam-ki, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, reported the comprehensive plan for the Korean New Deal to President Moon from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the same day for two hours. Spokesperson Kang said, "Deputy Prime Minister Hong reported that the matter had been agreed upon by the ruling party, government, and the Blue House, then provided a detailed explanation of the comprehensive plan, including signature projects of the Korean New Deal and the scale of the budget."
Spokesperson Kang conveyed, "President Moon reviewed the contents of the comprehensive plan for the Korean New Deal, which spans dozens of pages, one by one, and evaluated that it was well crafted into a grand vision within a short period." He added, "He also said it is even more meaningful because it was prepared through close collaboration among the ruling party, government, and the Blue House."
Previously, President Moon first revealed his intention to promote the Korean New Deal as a large-scale national project at the 5th Emergency Economic Meeting on April 22. On May 10, during a special speech marking his third anniversary in office, President Moon reiterated his intention to promote the Korean New Deal as a national project. He decided to pursue the Green New Deal as another pillar alongside the Digital New Deal.

Until recently, President Moon has been directly overseeing the detailed contents of the Korean New Deal," adding, "The concrete comprehensive plan came out following President Moon's first directive on April 22."
