Leaving Just One Call Saying You Want to Help Neighbors in Need
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Chunsu Kim] Amid the difficult times everyone is enduring due to COVID-19, small acts of kindness are bringing warmth to the local community.
On the 8th, the Gokseong-eup Administrative Welfare Center in Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, announced that on the 2nd, they received ten 20kg bags of white rice from an anonymous donor.
After the rice was delivered, the Administrative Welfare Center received a phone call from a middle-aged man.
He left only a message saying, "I have always wanted to offer a small help to neighbors in need, and due to the difficulties caused by the spread of COVID-19, I decided to make this donation," before hanging up.
The county plans to distribute the donated white rice to ten households, including socially marginalized groups and elderly families in need within the community.
