Confirmed Cases in Gochang, Jeonbuk and Jangseong, Jeonnam Attended Worship Services on June 27-28
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Two attendees of worship at Ilgok Central Church in Gwangju have been classified as confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), prompting health authorities to conduct comprehensive testing of all worship attendees.
According to Gwangju City on the 3rd, a man in his 60s, Mr. A, who was confirmed positive in Gochang, Jeonbuk, attended the worship service at Ilgok Central Church in Buk-gu, Gwangju, from 10:30 AM to 2:40 PM on the 28th of last month. Prior to that, he also used the billiard room inside the church from 8:30 PM to 11:10 PM on the 27th of last month.
Another confirmed case, a woman in her 60s, Ms. B, residing in Jangseong, Jeonnam, was also found to have attended worship services at Ilgok Central Church on the 27th and 28th of last month. Ms. B showed cold symptoms on the 29th of last month and tested positive on the same day.
The city health authorities have dispatched emergency investigators to the church and are controlling access. A temporary screening clinic has been set up in the churchyard, and from 3 PM on the day, attendees of the worship services on the 27th and 28th of last month are being tested.
