Busan Gyeongnam Headquarters of NHIS, New Director Jang Sumok Inaugurated
The newly appointed head of the Busan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters of the National Health Insurance Service, Jang Su-mok, is fostering employee unity after the inauguration ceremony on the 2nd.

The NHIS Busan-Gyeongnam Headquarters held the inauguration ceremony for the 13th head of the Busan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters on the 2nd at the 9th-floor conference room of the Busan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters.
The new head, Jang Su-mok, was born in Gunwi, Gyeongbuk. He earned a master's degree in Public Health from Tennessee State University in the United States and a doctorate in Public Health from Yonsei University. He joined the NHIS in 1986 and has served as Director of Planning and Coordination, Senior Director of the Benefits Security Office, and Director of the Human Resources Development Institute.
Head Jang said, “The regional headquarters will actively communicate with the headquarters and branches to support and alleviate the difficulties of the branches. I will first practice creating an organizational culture where employees consider each other and harmonize, making the workplace lively and confident for the staff.”
He added, “I will strive to foster win-win cooperation with stakeholders such as provider organizations and civic groups in each region to encompass Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, activate region-centered communication, and contribute to improving the health and quality of life of the people.”
