Songpa Tourism Information Center Renovation Completed
Songpa-gu "Tourists Can Safely Rest at the Center"... Free 'Luggage Storage Service' Also Provided
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) announced on the 26th that it has renovated the 'Songpa Tourism Information Center (Center)' to ensure that tourists visiting Songpa can visit with peace of mind amid the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) situation.
The Songpa Tourism Information Center, established in 2015, provides various services for domestic and international tourists, including foreign language guidance services, sales of tourism souvenirs, and chroma key zone experiences.
As the number of visitors to the center has steadily increased in recent years, the district has refurbished the center for the convenience and safety of visitors. In fact, the number of visitors to the center gradually increased from 10,793 in 2017 to 13,613 in 2018, and 18,715 in 2019.
During the renovation process, the district prioritized the safety of visitors amid the COVID-19 situation. To this end, the previously enclosed space was changed to an open type. Folding doors that can be opened and closed were installed to easily adjust the degree of enclosure.
Additionally, sofas were placed by the open windows to create a resting area where visitors can relax while enjoying the view of Seokchon Lake.
A 'locker' that anyone can use free of charge was also installed. This was actively reflected based on the opinions of tourism supporters working at the center and visitors. Luggage storage can be used for one day during the center's operating hours.
Furthermore, environmental improvements were made through repainting the aging 'Love Mailbox' and the building's exterior walls and floors.
