LG Electronics "Dios Electric Range Enables Comfortable Cooking Even in Summer"
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] LG Electronics announced on the 26th that test results showed the induction cooktop of the Dios electric range enables comfortable cooking even in summer.
LG Electronics recently measured the ambient temperature before and after cooking using the Dios electric range with three induction cooktops (model: BEI3MT) and a gas range (model: HB622AA).
According to their own experiment, after setting the gas range to maximum heat and cooking for about 3 minutes from the moment the water in the pot started boiling, the measured ambient temperature rose by more than 5 degrees Celsius compared to before cooking. In contrast, under the same conditions, the induction cooktop's temperature increased by about 0.3 degrees.
The induction cooktop uses a magnetic field instead of the hot flame of a gas range, so it does not affect the temperature change around the cooktop. The company explained that the approximately 0.3-degree increase observed in the induction cooktop experiment was not related to the cooktop itself but due to the pot heating up and the generation of hot steam during the cooking process.
Since the beginning of this year, about 80% of customers who purchased the LG Dios electric range chose products with two or more induction cooktops. The popularity of induction cooktops is because customers prefer induction for its ability to reduce cooking time and provide comfortable cooking. Induction generates heat directly in the cookware by passing a magnetic field through the cooktop surface, resulting in less heat loss and faster cooking.
LG Electronics emphasized that the Dios electric range is also convenient for hygiene management. It features diamond-cut glass and edge design, making it easy to remove foreign substances. The ‘Miradur Glass’ from Schott, a German specialty glass company, is resistant to scratches and always gives the feeling of a new product, the company added.
Safety is also excellent. This product is equipped with up to 14 safety features, including a ‘lock button’ to prevent operation by children or pets, a ‘timer’ to set cooking time, a ‘temporary reduction’ function to lower the output of all cooktops to the minimum with one button, a ‘residual heat indicator’ that shows when the hot cooktop surface has cooled down, and ‘output control’ to prevent coil overheating, providing industry-leading safety.
Customers can easily check the status of the cooktop remotely and turn off or reduce the output using the LG ThinQ app via Wi-Fi from the living room or outside the home.
