KOSPI Turns Down to 2110 Level Amid Joint Selling by Institutions and Foreigners
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Eun-mo] The KOSPI, which had been rising in the early session, reversed to a decline during the session and fell to the 2110 level.
On the 23rd, the KOSPI opened at 2,149.13, up 22.40 points (1.05%) from the previous trading day. The KOSPI, which rose more than 1% in the early session and approached the 2160 level, narrowed its gains around 10 a.m. and turned to a decline around 10:20 a.m. As of 10:35 a.m., it was recording 2,118.86, down 7.87 points (0.37%) from the previous trading day.
Looking at the trading trends by market participants, institutions and foreign investors are net sellers of 223.4 billion KRW and 16.9 billion KRW respectively, pulling the index down. On the other hand, individual investors are net buyers of 256.3 billion KRW.
Most of the large-cap stocks that had been showing an upward trend also turned to some declines. While Celltrion, NCSoft, Kakao, and Naver are rising, Samsung C&T, SK, Samsung Electronics, and SK Hynix are showing downward trends.

The KOSDAQ index also turned to a decline. The KOSDAQ index, which opened at 758.61, up 6.97 points (0.93%) from the previous trading day, also turned to a decline around 10:20 a.m. As of 10:35 a.m., it was recording 749.28, down 2.36 points (0.31%) from the previous trading day.
