Ministry of Land and Procurement Service Collaborate for Construction Innovation... Regular Director-Level Meetings Held
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) and the Public Procurement Service (PPS) announced on the 23rd that they have agreed to cooperate to establish innovative policies in the construction sector on the ground.
On the same day, MOLIT and PPS held the "MOLIT-PPS Construction Innovation Cooperation Meeting" at the Government Daejeon Complex and agreed to hold regular working-level meetings at the director-general level.
At the meeting, they discussed ▲strengthening the collaborative system for the establishment of construction innovation on site ▲protection of subcontractors and construction workers ▲creating conditions for appropriate construction period calculation.
MOLIT plans to consult with PPS as much as possible during the process of preparing detailed implementation plans related to the abolition of business area regulations, and to verify inspection items through a joint dedicated organization with related agencies.

Lee Seonghae, Director General of the Construction Policy Bureau at MOLIT, said, "The newly established cooperation meeting will serve as an incubator for construction innovation, ensuring that innovation tasks such as business area reorganization and eradication of delayed payments are properly implemented on site and exploring new innovation tasks," adding, "we expect the momentum for construction innovation to grow."
