Nine Samsung Executives Join 'High-Value Donor' Club One After Another
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Presidents of major Samsung affiliates such as Samsung Electronics, Samsung Life Insurance, and Samsung Securities have recently been listed in the high-value donor group 'Honors Club'.
According to the Community Chest of Korea's 'Fruit of Love' on the 22nd, recently Park Hak-gyu, Head of Management Support Office of Samsung Electronics DS Division (President), and Kyung Kye-hyun, CEO of Samsung Electro-Mechanics (President), were added to the 'Honor Society' list.
The 'Honor Society' or 'Honors Club' is a group of high-value donors who have donated 100 million KRW or more, or have pledged to pay within a certain period, to nonprofit organizations such as the Community Chest of Korea, the Korean Red Cross, and UNICEF.
Seven individuals including Choi Yoon-ho, Head of Management Support Office at Samsung Electronics, Jeon Kyung-hoon, Head of Network Business Division, Hwang Sung-woo, President of Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology, Jeon Young-mook, President of Samsung Life Insurance, Kim Dae-hwan, CEO of Samsung Card, Jang Seok-hoon, President of Samsung Securities, and Shim Jong-geuk, CEO of Samsung Asset Management, are either anonymous members of the Fruit of Love Honor Society or members of organizations such as the Korean Red Cross, Good People, and Green Umbrella.
All nine executives who were promoted to president or CEO at the end of last year joined the 'Honors Club' this year.
Samsung explained that this aligns with the so-called 'Together (同行)' vision emphasized by Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong since last year, aiming to practice it.
In a message commemorating the 50th anniversary of Samsung Electronics at the end of last year, Vice Chairman Lee said, "Sharing together and growing together is the path to becoming the world's best."
