Police Conduct Second Raid on LG Electronics Over Hiring Corruption Allegations
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] On the 18th, the police conducted a second raid on the HR team of LG Electronics' Sales Headquarters on suspicion of recruitment corruption.
According to the police and business circles, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Intelligent Crime Investigation Unit obtained a search warrant to secure additional personnel-related materials from the period suspected of recruitment corruption, following last month's raid on LG Korea Sales Headquarters and a personality test agency.
The police received a tip that there was a list of candidates who were improperly hired and requested LG Electronics to voluntarily submit evaluation materials from the HR team at that time, but after being refused, they applied for an additional warrant and carried out the raid on this day.
Earlier, the police booked former LG Electronics President Mr. A on charges related to recruitment corruption and summoned about 10 HR team officials from LG Electronics as witnesses for investigation.
