Honam University Hosts Online Talk Concert on 'AI Convergence Technology Prospects'
Live Broadcast on YouTube 'HonamdaeTV' at 2 PM on the 24th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Honam University (President Park Sangcheol) announced on the 18th that it will hold an online talk concert under the theme of ‘Prospects of AI Convergence Technology in the Post-Corona Era.’
This talk concert will be conducted by inviting the top AI experts in Korea.
Co-hosted by the Korean Women Scientists and Engineers Association (KWSE, President Im Hyosuk) and the Honam University Women Professors Association (President Baek Ran), it will be held on the 24th at 2 p.m. in the main auditorium on the first floor of the IT Square at Honam University.
Based on big data, the event will set the future prediction directions for education, research, and industrial fields in a future society made more uncertain by COVID-19, propose R&D strategies to successfully achieve national balanced development in the AI era, and highlight the necessity and validity of applying AI convergence, serving as an opportunity for discussion.
At the talk concert, thematic presentations titled ‘Big Data and Future Prediction’ (Choi Heeyoon, Director of Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information), ‘Regional R&D Policy Directions in the Intelligent Information Era’ (Professor Lee Shindoo, Seoul National University), and ‘Why Artificial Intelligence?’ (National Assembly Member Min Hyungbae) are scheduled.
Following this, presentations on ‘University Education and AI Convergence Education’ (Vice President Han Eunmi, Chonnam National University), ‘Blind Spots in the Social Welfare Sector’ (Professor Jang Hakyeong, Gwangju University), and ‘Current Status of AI Cluster Promotion in Gwangju Metropolitan City’ (Son Kyungjong, Director of AI Industry Bureau, Gwangju City) will provide vivid experiences from practitioners in AI convergence education and insights into the progress of the AI cluster in Gwangju Metropolitan City, fostering diverse discussions to promote AI convergence technology more solidly and successfully.
Baek Ran, President of the Honam University Women Professors Association, said, “At a time when a new normal must be established due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this event will present new ideas necessary for regional and national development in preparation for the post-corona era.” She added, “Although it is difficult for many people to participate directly to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we expect much interest and participation as the event will be conducted in a blended format with on-site and online real-time streaming.”
Meanwhile, Honam University Integrated News Center (Weekly Editor Jeong Cheol) plans to broadcast the live coverage of the AI Convergence Talk Concert, which will be held for about two hours from 2 p.m. on the day, on YouTube channel ‘Honam University TV.’
