This measure aims to improve the working environment of medical staff who collect specimens while wearing thick protective suits in the heat, and to enhance safety by reducing contact between medical personnel and those being tested.
The newly installed mobile screening clinic consists of three specimen collection rooms equipped with negative pressure devices and four reception areas.
The specimen collection rooms are equipped with transparent acrylic walls to separate the space between medical staff and test subjects, using a 'Glove Wall' system where hands are inserted through vinyl gloves in the open space to collect specimens from the test subjects.
By completely separating the movement paths of medical staff and test subjects, the risk of secondary infection is reduced, and medical staff do not need to wear protective suits and can use air conditioning, which helps reduce fatigue. It also saves protective equipment and allows for rapid testing in response to ongoing infection spread.
In particular, Gangdong-gu involved the public health center medical staff who will actually use the Glove Wall booths in their production, creating customized seated booths to complement the drawbacks of the existing stand-type booths.
