Changwon City Selects Recipients of the 38th Changwon City Culture Awards
Five Categories: Literature, Academia, Sports, Community Development, and Arts

This year's Cultural Awards recipients were selected by category as follows: Literature - Woo Mu-seok (60), Academic - Noh Seong-mi (57), Sports - Oh Yoon-kyung (47), Community Development - Park Geum-sook (61), and Arts - Kim Dae-hwan (68). The city accepted nominations from May 1 to 22 for 22 days and made the final decision on the 17th.
Woo Mu-seok, the literature award recipient, serves as the Chair of the Poetry Division of the Gyeongnam Writers' Association and as a director of the Masan Writers' Association. He contributed to the foundation of literary creative activities and the development of Changwon literature through organizing the Kim Dal-jin Literary Festival and the Kwon Hak Literary Festival.
Noh Seong-mi, the academic award recipient, is an associate professor at Gyeongnam National University. She serves as a cultural heritage expert committee member for the province and as a specialist committee member of the Cultural Heritage Administration's Intangible Cultural Heritage Committee, dedicating efforts to publishing historical and cultural works and promoting the history and cultural arts of Changwon City.
Additionally, Oh Yoon-kyung, the sports award recipient, works as a table tennis coach at Changwon University. She led the Korea Table Tennis Association to receive the Best Organization Award and Coaching Award for the first time in 28 years since its founding, demonstrating professionalism as a table tennis coach and contributing to the development of sports in the local community.
Next, Park Geum-sook, the community development award recipient, currently serves as the vice president of the Gyeongnam Disabled Curling Association. She has been active in community service through supporting Changwon disabled organizations, donating her talents, and participating in arts groups.
Lastly, Kim Dae-hwan serves as the head of the Changwon branch of the Korea Photographers Association. He is also active as the president of the Changwon Federation of Arts and Culture and as an advisory member of the Korea Yesachon. Through producing longevity portraits and exhibiting photographic works in public institutions, he has contributed to the cultural activities of local residents and was finally selected as the arts award recipient.

The Changwon City Cultural Awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on July 1 at the 10th Citizens' Day commemorative ceremony.
