Gyeonggi-do Elementary, Middle, and High School Equivalency Exam Pass Rate 84.8%
[Asia Economy (Uijeongbu) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education announced on the 16th that the pass rate for the elementary, middle, and high school equivalency exams held on the 23rd of last month was 84.8%. This is a 3.0 percentage point increase compared to the pass rate of 81.8% in the first half of last year.
A total of 6,999 candidates took the exam, with 5,933 (84.8%) passing. The pass rates were 97.7% for elementary level, 88.9% for middle level, and 81.9% for high school level.
The number of candidates decreased by 330 (4.5%) from 7,329 in the first half of last year, which is presumed to be due to the impact of COVID-19.
The exam was originally scheduled for April 11 but was postponed due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation.
There were 27 perfect scorers in total: 4 at the elementary level, 8 at the middle level, and 15 at the high school level.
The oldest passers were Ha Mo (82 years old), who took the elementary equivalency exam, and the youngest was Choi Mo (11 years old) at the elementary level.
