Jeonbuk Namwon-si, Hope House Vacant House Regeneration Project Promotion
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Namwon City is promoting the ‘Hope House Vacant House Regeneration Project,’ which renovates 10 vacant houses in the area to create a stable residential environment for vulnerable housing groups.
This project remodels neglected vacant houses in rural areas to recreate living spaces and provides rental housing free of charge for five years to low-income groups, newlyweds, returnees to farming and rural areas, and local activists.
The support fund is up to 20 million KRW per house with a minimum self-payment of 5%. Since 2015, the city has supported a total of 21 vacant houses with 125 million KRW to improve the residential environment and promote housing stability.
This year, with a secured budget of 200 million KRW, 10 vacant houses were selected in April, and the project is underway with the goal of completion in October.
