Damyang-gun Operates Intensive Application Period for Customized Elderly Care Services
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Choi Hyung-sik) announced on the 15th that it will operate an intensive application period for the Customized Elderly Care Service from the 15th to the 30th.
The Customized Elderly Care Service, implemented since January this year, is a consolidation and reorganization of the existing elderly care services operated by the county. So far, 1,377 seniors have been using the service through two executing agencies.
Due to the spread of COVID-19, which has deepened social isolation and loneliness among the elderly, the county decided to operate an intensive application period to actively identify socially vulnerable elderly and expand service provision.
This project provides appropriate care services such as safety and welfare support, life education, and social participation activities to vulnerable elderly who have difficulty carrying out daily life, through life support workers, helping them maintain a stable old age and health.
The target beneficiaries are seniors aged 65 or older who are recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security, lower-income brackets, or basic pension recipients, including elderly couples and grandparent-headed households who have difficulty with daily life, and they can receive the Customized Elderly Care Service.
