The first of the three key tasks is to reduce vinyl and plastic usage by 50% by 2025. Annual reduction targets will be set and linked to performance indicators. Additionally, when producing private brand (PB) products, the seven eco-friendly packaging guidelines will be applied. The seven eco-friendly packaging guidelines include ▲using removable stickers ▲applying eco-friendly perforation lines ▲using reusable packaging materials ▲replacing with eco-friendly materials, among others. In fact, Lotte Mart has released the 'Isis 8.0 Eco' product in collaboration with Lotte Chilsung, which eliminated vinyl labels.
The second task is to reduce food waste in stores by 30% by 2025. To reduce food waste, a company-wide campaign is underway, and the amount of food waste generated is measured daily. The sale time, which is held close to store closing time, will also be significantly advanced to provide customers with more opportunities to purchase products at discounted prices.

The third task is to expand the base of renewable energy and electric vehicles. Currently, Lotte Mart has installed solar power facilities on the rooftops of 39 stores, producing 4.6 million kilowatts (kW) annually, enough electricity for 1,600 households for one year. This will be expanded to 60 stores by 2021. A new concept charging station that charges electric vehicles through solar power facilities is also operating on the rooftop of the Yeongdeungpo store.
