With the Implementation of Alcohol 'Smart Order'... GS25 Partners with GS Shop to Start Wine Sales
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] GS25 has partnered with GS Shop to start selling wine.
GS25 announced that from 11 a.m. on the 15th of this month until the 19th, it will pilot a service allowing customers to order wine through GS Shop's mobile app and then pay and pick up their orders at GS25 stores.
With the allowance of smart ordering for alcoholic beverages (ordering and payment through online channels with in-store pickup) starting in April, GS Retail and GS Shop, which possess both online and offline distribution channels, have joined forces to expand synergy among affiliates.
Customers can access the ‘GS Benefits’ section on the GS Shop mobile app, select wines, choose a GS25 store for pickup, and enter their order information to complete the reservation. Orders placed by 11 a.m. can be picked up the same day at GS25, while orders placed afterward can be collected the next day.
The products available include 25 popular wines at GS25, and the GS25 stores available for pickup are 25 locations in Seoul’s Gangnam-gu, Songpa-gu, Yeongdeungpo-gu, and other districts.
Various special offers and promotional products are also prepared. ▲Pierre Luton Red 750 ▲Haras de Pirque Reserve ▲Yangara PF Shiraz, three types, are sold at up to 60% discounted prices, and ▲Diablo Devil’s Collection ▲Camel Road Pinot Noir ▲Kendall-Jackson Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, three types, are offered as special sets including Spiegelau wine glasses, each limited to 100 units.
Previously, in December last year, GS25 launched the Wine25 service, allowing customers to reserve wines through GS Fresh’s mobile app and pick them up at over 900 GS25 stores in Seoul. Wine sales at stores that introduced the Wine25 service increased by approximately 80% to 400% compared to before its introduction.

Kim Yumi, Wine MD at GS Retail, said, “The Wine25 service, which allows customers to reserve wine via the mobile app and pick it up the same day at a nearby GS25, has achieved results beyond expectations since its launch, coinciding with the implementation of smart ordering for alcoholic beverages. With the system now in place, we will expand various online formats and partnerships for alcohol sales using GS25’s offline platform.”
